Kisspeptin-10: A Reproductive-Axis Signalling Research Guide
What is Kisspeptin-10?
Kisspeptin-10 is a 10-amino-acid fragment of the larger kisspeptin protein, the active portion that retains the peptide’s signalling activity. Kisspeptin is studied as one of the most upstream regulators of the reproductive hormone axis – the cascade that governs the production of the sex hormones. Kisspeptin-10 is the form most commonly used in research because it carries the receptor-activating sequence in a compact, stable peptide.
Studied mechanisms of action
In research models, Kisspeptin-10 acts at the KISS1 receptor (also called GPR54) on the neurons that produce gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) in the hypothalamus. By stimulating these neurons it is studied for triggering the release of GnRH, which in turn drives the pituitary to release LH and FSH and ultimately the gonads to produce sex hormones. This places kisspeptin signalling at the very top of the reproductive axis – upstream of GnRH itself – which is why it is studied as a master regulator of reproductive hormone signalling and why it has attracted interest as a research tool for probing that cascade.
The state of the research
Kisspeptin and Kisspeptin-10 have a substantial preclinical and clinical research literature in reproductive endocrinology, where the kisspeptin system is recognised as essential to the onset and regulation of reproductive function. Within the research-compound community its use is experimental and model-dependent. Researchers account for its upstream position in the axis and its pulsatile signalling when interpreting results. Results remain preclinical.
Handling & storage for research
Supplied as a lyophilised powder. Store sealed vials cold and protected from light; reconstitute with bacteriostatic water for laboratory handling and keep the reconstituted solution refrigerated, using it within the appropriate window. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and vigorous agitation. Every Aura Labs batch ships with a third-party certificate of analysis confirming identity and purity above 99%.
Why researchers choose Aura Labs
Aura Labs supplies research peptides across Southeast Asia with third-party testing on every batch, a certificate of analysis available for each lot, and discreet, fast regional dispatch. Purity, accurate labelling and reproducible quality are the priorities researchers rely on for consistent results.
